The Village of Homewood proudly ushers in the changing season with the 16th Annual Homewood Fall Fest 2017 on Saturday, September 16 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The celebration on Martin Ave. from Hickory to Ridge Road features live music for all ages including kiddie-rocker The Boogers, classic twang of Blue Mud, HFHS grads Workout Music and the soul/Motown and R&B stylings of The Hemispheres. In addition, Homewood’s “Top Chef” is crowned in the annual Chili Cook-Off. There is an annual scarecrow decorating contest, enchanting horse-drawn wagon rides, an outdoor viewing of “Sing” food and beverage vendors and more. The Homewood Science Center is also hosting a PopUp SCIENCE event, “Ready, Set, Experiment!”. Homewood Fall Fest also hosts the auction of the public art initiative “Pets on Parade” benefiting the South Suburban Humane Society. Homewood Fall Fest 2017 is free and open to the public.
